Opened in 2007, Poptent was once a social video production company that offered crowdsourced media content to clients around the globe. At the peak of their success, they managed around 75,000 independent video producers who worked in 150 different countries. With their success and want to expand, Poptent merged with another crowdsourced video production company, Userfarm, in order to create a new website, Vizy.com. Not long after Vizy was created, the teams at Poptent and Userfarm began to disagree. The conflicts led to Userfarm pulling out of the merger, which caused Vizy to be shut down. With no way to pay off the debts associate with the break-up and their own management issues, Poptent was forced to close on June 25th, 2015.
